All invited to fundraising walk

Orlando Athletic Club (OAC) will be hosting a half marathon on December 8, starting at Orlando Communal Hall in Orlando East.

Residents can either take part in the 5 km, 10 km or 21 km fun run.

OAC is a club that nurtures young athletes to reach the elite level so they can represent the country on a global athletic stage and achieve world acclaim.

“Many of our athletes come from very poor backgrounds and are not able to have all the necessary sporting equipment. This marathon will be a fundraising event to raise funds for our members,” said orgasniser Johannes Mashego.

Entry forms for the marathon can be collected Orlando Communal Hall or at Central Gauteng Athletic Races.

Residents can collect their race numbers from the Communal Hall on December 5, 6 and 7.

Residents will not be able to collect their race numbers on race day.

The closing day for pre-entry is November 30. The race will start at 7 am.
