Soweto schools shine in JSE/Liberty Challenge

Schools impress at the annual schools and universities JSE Liberty Investment Challenge

The annual schools and universities JSE Liberty Investment Challenge is an educational youth programme aimed at introducing high school pupils and university students to the world of investment and teaches them the fundamentals of investment strategy. It provides an opportunity for students to get insights on the how to invest and the importance of investing on the exchange. The JSE/Liberty Investment Challenge awards ceremony took place on Friday the 18th of October.

The winning schools in the Soweto region are as follows:

Thabo Directors from Thabo Senior Secondary School won 1st place in the Income Portfolio:
Individuals from left to right: Zeona Jacobs (Director: Issuer and Investor Relations at the JSE), Maria Moshoane (Teacher), Tebogo Hlatshwayo (student), Refiloe Bopape (student), Dialy Mohlakoana (student), Sebabatso Kgame(student) and Julian Dallamore (Brand Manager: Liberty Life) standing behind the students.
Naledi 1 from Naledi Secondary School won 3rd place in the Income Portfolio:
Individuals from left to right: Nomzamo Ngqabaza, Zeona Jacobs (Director: Issuer and Investor Relations at the JSE), Mbali Miya, Shoppy Sibeko, Tsakane Timbane, Nkosentsha Ngubane (Teacher) and Julian Dallamore (Brand Manager: Liberty Life).
