City officials including councillors and residents gathered at Ndingilizi’s Duma and Matlala Drive Street to witness the induction.

Tau thanked the Dorljota Taxi Association, Piotrans, Johannesburg Road Agency and other stakeholders who played a crucial role during the project’s progression.

Shabangu said Dorljota looks forward to work with all the parties involved into the managing of the facility.

Surprisingly, the facility combines a taxi rank and bus terminus with a park and ride facilities for private vehicles.

The size of the terminus is 4600m2 and park and ride is 5200m2.

It has three bus and two taxi bays and 140 parking bays for cars to be accommodated.

There is one ticket office, one information office, two taxi association offices, one manager office, one security office, male and female bathrooms and 12 trading stalls.

This project created jobs for four SMMEs and 60 local labours.
