Accident at an inter-section

As the festive season approaches, car accidents are on the increase. No-one dead in this accident but there was causalities that was treated for minor injuries.

This past Sunday evening there was car accident, it happened on the corner of the Fuel and Harmony Road at the inter-section of Coronationville and Westbury.

Shafick Chummie family was in one of the cars involved in the accident.

“We were on our way to a funeral and I was following my mother on Fuel road and when we got to the inter-section it was green for us to go but then a blue Golf two skipped the red robot and smashed into my mother’s car,” said Chummie.

There weren’t any fatalities but there were three people that were rushed to hospital with minor injuries.

Johannesburg Metro Police (JMPD) was on the scene and was very helpful to the parties involved in the accident that occurred.

“The service we received from JMPD was very impressive and helpful,” said Chummie

Residents have said that since the new BRT corridor was created on Fuel road has made motorist lives difficult.

“The accidents on Fuel road have increased the past few months since this corridor, because our roads aren’t up to standard for this corridor but it was forced onto our roads,” said Leslie Fortien.
