The Pan Africanist Congress (PAC) Ward 22 branch celebrated their late president Zeph Motoping

The Pan Africanist Congress (PAC) Ward 22 branch recently celebrated their late president at Zephania Lekoame Mothopeng in Braamfontein.

The Mothopeng Memorial lecture was delivered by PAC president Letlapa Mphahlele.

“Today we celebrate the life of a legend.

“Celebrating the indelible contributions of Mothopeng in our struggle is the theme of the day,” Mphahlele said.

According to Lehlohonolo Shale, the party’s spokesperson, attending was former PAC secretary general Mike Muendane and poet Don Mattera.

“Veterans included Mark Shinners and Ike Mafole and we would like to thank them for attending the lecture,” he said.

He said the Bethal Trial co-accused, Shinners, gave a moving recollection of how Mothopeng defeated humiliation in the hands of the minority regime by urging his fellow prisoners to fight on and assuring them that victory was certain.

Shale thanked wellwishers who attended the lecture, Socialist Party of Azania (SOPA) president Lybon Mabasa and playwright Selaelo Maredi

Performance poet Kgafela Oa Magogodi had the audience in stiches with his scathing poetry on the state of the nation.
