'Voting registrations went well'

Youth queue to register to vote

DA Shadow MMC Community Development councillor Nonhlanhla Sifumba said the voting registration processes over the weekend in some areas was a success.

Sifumba said on the day of the registrations young people were seen with their identity documents in queues to register.

She said this was a clear sign that activists are doing a good job encouraging the youth to register to vote.

“This proves that people indeed want to make their voices heard and vote for change next year.

She said” I thank all the volunteers for their commitment and dedication in ensuring that this process goes smoothly.

Sifumba said it was for the first time that in most voting stations, born frees were seen wearing DA t-shirts.

“People want to see DA governing Gauteng and that was visible on registration day,” said Sifumba.
