Your vote is your voice

“I am appealing to all our residents of Ward 82 to exercise your democratic right, it is absolutely imperative that people ensure that they are registered to vote,”

A voter registration campaign will be held this weekend on November 9 and 10.

“I am appealing to all our residents of Ward 82 to exercise your democratic right, it is absolutely imperative that people ensure that they are registered to vote,” said Susan Stewart Ward 82 councillor.

To register as a new voter or change a person’s personal details, potential voters should visit their nearest voting stations and take their bar-coded identity document or a valid temporary identification certificate along with them.

Ward 82 will have seven voting stations that will be open on November 9 and 10.

The voting stations will be at Claremont Primary School, Save the Lost Ministry, Newclare Primary School, Gereformeerde Kerk, Danie Van Zyl Recreation Centre, Dowling Avenue Primary School and Bosmont Recreation Centre.

Residents can also verify if they are registered and where, by sending an SMS with their ID number to 32810 or by logging onto www.elections.org.za, click on ‘Am I registered to vote?’ and check their voter status by entering their ID number.

If you are not registered, please go out and register, so that you can cast your vote in the upcoming National Elections.
Remember, your vote is your voice.

“There were many men and women before us that did something to alter the course of the world, and so can we all.

“Few people in this life will be able to have the greatness to bend history but each of us can work toward changing even a small portion of our current world to make it a better place,” said Stewart.
