The Rea Vaya smart card is one of the quickest, easiest and most convenient ways to pay for travel fares using the Rea Vaya.

Residents can load money into their Smartcard at the Rea Vaya stations, selected vendors and retail outlets, as well as at ABSA ATMs.
Immediately after loading at the cashier, you will be given a slip, indicating the balance and the loading fee.
Residents must have a minimum amount of R12.50 on their card.
They must also have paid a loading fee of 2.5% or R1.50 if they top up, with less than R60.
Residents are urged to load money once a week or once a month to save on loading fees.
