No bail for murderer say residents

This past Friday, residents again gathered at the corner of Croesus and Krechmar streets in Westbury to protest the bail application of the man who allegedly murdered a 38-year-old man last week.

This past Friday, residents again gathered at the corner of Croesus and Krechmar streets in Westbury to protest the bail application of the man who allegedly murdered a 38-year-old man last week.

Families and friends are alleging that the man is linked to numerous unsolved murders in the community.

The man appeared in court the previous Monday and was denied bail.

Protesters then took taxis to Johannesburg Central Court where the accused appeared again this past Friday.

“We made sure that the court room was full, we are tired of the justice system failing us,” Charley Cook.

“Bail has been denied, we are doing something right,” said Hatta Billings

“This must stop, let us start working like a family and how people in authorises accountable,” said Manne Sandowns from South Africa National Civic Organisation (SANCO).
