Morkels donate maize meal to Ipolokeng

“We were given a challenge to buy something out of our pockets and give it to the community"

The Diepkloof Square Morkels donated maize meal to Ipolokeng Primary School.

The donation was part of the Morkels Yenza Ubuhle campaign.

The manager of the Diepkloof Square Morkels said that the head office challenged them to give back to the community.

“We were given a challenge to buy something out of our pockets and give it to the community. The staff bought 16 X 2,5 packages of maize meal,” she said.

For Ipolokeng teachers Christina Matsapola and Mmapaseka Mokoka it was a matter of being in the right place at the right time.

Christina Matsapola said that they were coming from a shop at the square when the manager of Morkels called them and gave them the donation.

“We went to the mall to teach pupils about drafting a budget when the manager of Morkels called us and gave us the maize meals. The maize meal is a wonderful addition to the school feeding scheme,” she said.
