Unexploded hand grenade found at Pretoria residence

“At this stage, there is no information as to how the bomb ended up at the scene,” police spokesperson Captain Bonginkosi Msimango says.

Police are trying to determine the motive after a hand grenade was found at a Laudium residence in the early hours of Sunday morning, Rekord Centurion reports.

The bomb was found at a home in Umber Street at around 02:00.

“At this stage, there is no information as to how the bomb ended up at the scene,” said police spokesperson Captain Bonginkosi Msimango.

Msimango confirmed the bomb unit was still on the scene on Sunday morning.

“The hand grenade did not explode and was removed by the unit for further investigations,” he said.

“At this stage, the motive has not been established and no arrests have been made.”
