Phumla Twala sheds some light on social media and personal branding

The Soweto based model and social media content creator is set to host an event to empower models and fashion designers.

The 22-year-old Soweto based model and social media content creator, Phumla Twala will be hosting a social media & personal branding workshop for models and fashion designers. This is an annual event which was inspired by her Instagram live broadcast titled, ‘LIVE WITH PHUMLA’ which takes place on Fridays.

The event will be held at Fives Futbol, Jewel City in Maboneng precinct, on Saturday, February 26 from 11AM to 4PM. The workshop will be graced by different speakers, the likes of Mirriam Ngomani, a model coach, Tricia Marumo, a COO at Thick Goddess Executive models, Nonjabulo Mabaso, a public relations strategist, Petheho Mosia, an online brand development strategist and Phumla Twala who will be your host for the day.

The season two of her live sessions will be starting on March 4, via her Instagram @Phumla_Kim. Twala believes that when digital brand development is done correctly, it builds the potential to increase your profitability, improve brand presence and expose one to their target audience.

“A well-positioned personal brand increases brand awareness, boosts revenue and turns users into brand ambassadors,” she said.

The key focus areas for this workshop are, social media 101, personal brand development, digital brand positioning and social media management. The event will be coordinated and managed by a digital marketing agency known as SM Social.

Getting to know Phumla Twala describing who she is and her love for fashion she said: “I study marketing management and work as a Logistics Support, I’m a model by using occupation and I consider myself as a high fashion model due to the fact I love design clothes and constructing my brand through social media will enable me to grow and collaborate with other brands”.

“Self-confidence is one of my favourite quotes, I’ve struggled with self-esteem for the longest of time, been bullied about my weight, skin colour and height. the programme LIVE With Phumla which I began last year is a platform that boosted my confidence and made me love myself as I am with my very own beautiful imperfections,” she concluded.
