Smartstarters visit to the Andries Meyer Old Age Home

The early childhood development creches from Eldorado Park feed the elderly and staff to give back to the community.

Ten women who run Early Childhood Development Centres in Eldorado Park visited the Andries Meyer Old Age Home to provide lunch to the elderly and staff.

This occasion took place on October 18 and one of the ladies is Charmaine Mafoko who shared that they are all under the smartstarters franchise.

“As smartstarters we understand that the emotional, social and physical development of young children has a direct effect on their overall development and on the adult they will become. Therefore, we strive and aim to reach any many children as possible within our community. “We want to see change within our community and we want to develop our future leaders, we want the children of our community to become successful, independent and responsible men and women who will put Eldorado Park on the map,” said Mafoko.

She also added that as smartstarters they are driven by the passion of helping others, and serving in their community so that they can contribute to making the community a better place for all. According to Mafoko, the lunch at Andries Meyer Old Age Home is just one of many contributions towards the community that the ladies do throughout the year.

“We want to show love and appreciation to everyone including our elderly people, we want our elderly to know that we love, acknowledge and care about them. We also want our community to know about us and how we are trying to make a change in our community. We would like to express our gratitude to our community and parent who has been supporting, allowing and trust us to help them with the development of their children,” concluded Mafoko.
