Business donates towards education

Businessman ploughs back into education.

The understanding and compassion of a business owner was seen through the act of giving to primary school pupils last week Tuesday.

Morekuri Trading donated full school uniform to 266 pupils from six different schools in Jubulani and its surrounding locations.

Moses Meje is the owner of Morekuri and says that it has been a life long challenge for him to get to where he is and wants to make sure that fewer pupils go through what he went through.

“I know what its like to go to school without shoes and in a torn uniform and I know how uncomfortable learning is in such conditions.

“I genuinely want to make learning a better experience for as many pupils as possible because I know that when minor things like uniform are taken care of then a child has time to focus on other more important things.

“That’s the reason why it fills my heart with joy to see pupils smiling and walking with pride in their new uniform,” Meje said.

Nompumelelo Kheswa is a Grade Four pupil from Putalushaka Primary School and said that she only has one set of school uniform which she had been re- washing almost everyday.

“I’m overwhelmed and grateful of the uniform we got today.

“I am going to use it to change with my dirty and tired uniform, I cant wait to wear it and have that feeling of something brand new on my skin,” Kheswa said.

Morekuri Trading has been donating uniform to school pupils for the past four years and aims to continue for as long as they can.

Meje says that you don’t have to go through suffering for you to help someone who is experiencing suffering.

He says that we should all make a difference to the next person and wishes that other business people could do the same.
