Before handing over the title deeds to the rightful owners, MMC Mabaso educated the elderly people on what a title deed is and how important it is. He then appealed with the beneficiaries to keep the documents safe and never to sell their properties or rent them out.

Mabaso stated that during his serving term, the department will continue working hard until the last day of the office term to ensure that the outstanding list of title deeds is cleared.

“ This is to help our people to fully own what is theirs by having the right documents, this is the only way people can receive the full warmth of their houses. Building houses for people is not enough until they are fully entitled to it, this also helps families know they have a place they can call home,” he said.

“ It has been a long road to Canaan but we are finally here, I have been going up and down for quite a long time regarding the issue, and hope was lost along the way, but today I can finally say I am a homeowner, “ Gogo expressed herself.
