GCIS to commemorate Youth Month in Dobsonville
Young people from Soweto invited to interact with government.
The Government Communication and Information System (GCIS) is inviting residents of Dobsonville, Soweto and surrounding areas to a Youth Month Community Outreach Programme that will be held on June 18 at the Dobsonville Mall.
The activation event will be held under the theme “The Year of Charlotte Mannya Maxeke: Growing youth employment for an inclusive and transformed society.”
The primary objective of the event is to engage with residents, especially youth within the community and share vital information pertaining to various government programmes and initiatives aimed at improving and uplifting their lives.
The event is hosted in partnership with various Government departments and agencies who will disseminate information on how to access training, business, and employment opportunities in line with the theme for Youth Month 2021 for Dobsonville residents.

Dobsonville residents and those in the surrounding areas are urged to come out in their numbers in order to engage with the represented government departments and agencies.
All individuals who will be present at the Community Outreach event are requested to observe Covid-19 protocols by washing and or sanitizing their hands, wearing a mask, and practicing social distancing.
In the context of the Covid-19 pandemic, South African youth are compelled to demonstrate activism beyond socio-economic issues such as access to free education, high rate of unemployment, and also render focus on health and wellness issues.
GCIS has been doing activations over the past 23 years as a platform for dissemination of information to the public and to make them aware of the publications available within the public sector. Previous activations have been held at taxi ranks and malls in the Gauteng province.
