Reggie Peace releases his latest song titled ‘Trou met my’

The artist is said to release an album before the end of 2021.

Reginald Hufkie also known by his stage name ‘Reggie Peace’ is a South African actor and singer best known for his recurring role as Luke on the SABC1 soapie Generations.

The twenty-eight-year-old received training in Gilbert and Sullivan from Robyn Williams and Ian Von Memerty in 2011, he was a member of the University of Johannesburg (UJ) Drama Company from 2012 to 2014 and he received choir training from Nqobile Sibeko. He also completed a Management Diploma from UJ.

When the artist is not on TV or stage, he is writing music and shooting music videos. Recently Reggie Peace released a single titled ‘Trou met my’ and he shared some details with us about the song.

“It’s a fictional love story in which a guy asks a woman to marry him. He asks her if she is willing to walk up the stream with him in marriage. The thought process was very theme-focused, so I was thinking about love and its ups and downs,” explained Reggie Peace.

After having the ideas of the song since last year, he released the audio in March this year.

The song ‘Trou met my’ can be described by Reggie Peace as having a retrowave or synthwave pop, an 80’s type, fresh sound. The entire song is in Afrikaans because it is the artist’s home language. “It feels great to be expressing myself in my home language, however, I make English music as well,” added Reggie Peace.

When it comes to what makes this song different from his other songs, the artist shared that it is a story that starts on a negative note but it ends positively.

“In verse one I wrote:
Vat my hand en wandel met my die slegte tye in
Hou my vas en wees hier wanneer ek in my pyn verdrink
In verse two it is written:
Vat my hand en wandel met my die beter dae in
Hou my vas en wees hier wanneer vrede my omring”

Reggie Peace will be releasing an album this year and shared that he is looking forward to it. He also looks forward to performing it on stage and being in front of the cameras again. “I am grateful, any kind of support means a lot to me,” concluded the artist.
