During the bail application on Wednesday, the accused pleaded not guilty to the charges placed upon them and presented the court with reasons as to why they should be granted bail.

Speaking on behalf of the NPA, Phindi Mjonondwane said they welcome the court’s decision and credits must go to the investigating officer and the prosecutor for preparing a good response to the application that was brought by the accused.

Traditional healers and the Sangweni family were relieved and excited as they began to dance outside the courtroom after learning that the accused were been denied bail.

This brought forth emotions to the family. “I can’t speak, my daughter loved me, she took care of me,” said Samson Sangweni (father to the deceased) as tears began to roll out of his eyes.

However, the family is happy that the law is in charge and is handling the matter accordingly.
