Man(38) arrested for attempted murder and possession of unlicensed firearm
It is alleged that an altercation broke out between the 28-year-old male victim and the suspect, concerning the removal of a waterpipe on Wednesday.
In the early hours of Thursday morning 2021-05-06 at approximately 00h30, members of Eldorado Park SAPS promptly attended to a shooting incident that occurred at Akwamaryn Street Old Eldorado Park.
It is alleged that an altercation broke out between the 28-year-old male victim and the suspect, concerning the removal of a waterpipe, on Wednesday 2021-05-05 at about 23h50.
Witnesses further allege that the 38-year-old suspect withdrew a firearm and shot the victim, once in his head.
The victim was not fatally wounded and was thereafter taken to hospital for medical attention.
The 38-year-old male suspect was arrested at the crime scene upon arrival of the SAPS members.
An unlicensed revolver firearm that had been in the possession of the suspect was recovered. The 38-year-old suspect was thereafter detained at Eldorado Park SAPS for the charges of Attempted murder and possession of unlicensed firearm. He will appear in the respective court during the week.
The relatives of the victim who were attended to at Eldorado Park SAPS Client Service Centre on Thursday 2021-05-06 expressed their gratitude toward the swift response of the Eldorado Park SAPS.
