Situated at 1882 Ledutse Street at Michael Seageng Primary School, the centre offers convenience to the Naledi community and its surrounding areas and has started operating from January 27.

Lorraine Mokoena is the current centre supervisor and said the centre had previously been operating from Kgatelopele Primary School in Naledi but needed a bigger centre to work from.

“To reach our goal of expanding the centre, Michael Seageng was one of the schools which were vacant and my team and I decided to move there for convenience of space,” says Mokoena.

The Adult Education and Training Centre has two other sites around the deep Soweto region with satellites in Zola North and a main branch situated in Emndeni South.

The Zola branch is at Isu’ lihle Higher Primary School and operates from 4pm till 8pm while the main branch in Emndeni South operates in the morning from 8am till 12am at Fundani Primary School.

Registrations are taking place in all the schools and pupils are encouraged to come as early as possible to make use of the opportunity to improve results and increase the chance of gaining entry into tertiary education.
