What is your most memorable or cherished Christmas?

We asked a few locals what their most memorable or cherished Christmas was and these were the top three who answered.

Shantonise Thompson said: “When granny was still alive…all the family will have lunch at grannies place.

“The excitement of getting new Christmas clothes (the cute dresses and church shoes) and a week before Christmas all your outfits are waiting for you and you just can’t wait for the day of Christmas to wear your new clothes and get your hair done and look cute.

“Spending the night before, preparing for Christmas, and waiting for 12 to open Christmas gift.

” Linking up with your cousins the day of Christmas and showing off your new things and knowing you guys are going to have so much fun playing together. I miss being a kid.”

S’phindile Mbatha shared that her most cherished Christmas was when she spent her last Christmas with her late sister.

Terry-Anne Rispel said: “My favourite memory is that myself and my family will watch a good family movie or Christmas movie than just five minutes before 12 we count down once it’s 12 we wish one another Merry Christmas before we give each other their gift.

“We have a moment where we share a thankful moment as a family thanking and appreciating one another for who we are to each other and then we gift one another this is my most cherished moment with my family on Christmas day.”
