Soweto’s DJ Vusinator set for a busy festive!

Despite the setback, brought by Covid-19, Gigabyte hitmaker is determined to bounce back stronger.

Soweto’s Producer and Dj, Vusinator is gearing up for a busy festive season. The 23-year-old has been hard at work and is set to release, what he describes, as “a festive package”.

To curb the rising spread of the Coronavirus Covid-19, South Africa went into one of the strictest lockdowns in the world. Consequently, events were canceled. Like everyone else in the entertainment industry, Vusinator had to find alternative means to generate income during the lockdown period.

“For us in the music industry, it was a wake-up call, if I can put it like that. We realized we can’t depend on events alone. I was fortunate enough to have the merchandise sales to keep me going- and that’s a credit to the supporters, but truthfully, everyone in the industry took a hit,” said Vusinator.

Despite the setback, the Gigabyte hitmaker is determined to bounce back stronger. Vusinator has spent his lockdown time in the studio and is aiming a string of hits just in time for the festive season.

“It’s all about the festive now, I want to thank the supporters for being loyal to me and let them know we’re going to be okay. People lost jobs and some, lost their lives, that’s why we just want to have a great festive and celebrate life, kubemnandi nje,” he said.

Further, Vusi has his sights on releasing his full debut album in 2021, “It’s something I’ve had in my mind for a while, but I’ve decided that 2021 is going to be the year. It’s a big project, and if all goes according to plan we’ll bring a lot of artists in as well. We already have so many artists on board. I really enjoyed working with Killa Kau, and at some point in the future, I’d love to work Maphorisa and Professor.”

Nator, signed to his own record label-Natorfam Entertainment, also urged artists to go independent. “This whole Covid-situation woke us all up. With so many companies that had to close, I think everyone in the industry saw how important it is to have your own thing going. I urge to everyone try and figure out how they can make their own money it doesn’t have to be a lot,” he said.

While his festive package is yet to be released, amapiano lovers can stream or download his EP-I Am The Festive President– released in late September. The 6-track EP features the talents of Enhle Onoshukela, Fire Mlilo, and Tallqute to name a few.
