Unidentified female body found in Meadowlands
no arrest has been made on the case and the suspect is unknown.
On Sunday, July 12, a lifeless body of a female that is believed to be in her twenties was found in Corner Maseru and Forbes in Meadowlands Zone 8.
According to a media statement released by Meadowlands communications officer, Octavia Thebe police responded to a complaint from the area and upon arrival, they found a body of a woman that was covered by a blanket.
It further states that Johannesburg Emergency Services was contacted and she was declared dead on the scene. The statement explained that upon examination it was found that the body had sustained injuries in the body.

Thebe said according to the witnesses the deceased was allegedly walking alone and just fell to the ground. She further stated that the deceased might have been assaulted somewhere and attempted to go home but could not make it due to the injuries she suffered.
She said some community members were given an opportunity to have a look at her to see if anyone recognise her but no one seemed to know her and she has been taken to the mortuary.
Thebe said no arrest has been made on the case and the suspect is unknown.
She urged families who have not seen their daughter or sister for days to visit Meadowlands Police station so they can identify the body.
