Drug bust in Zamimpilo Informal Settlement

Kraai stated that the Langlaagte Police Crime Prevention members are committed to cleaning the area of Langlaagte from drugs.

Over the past few weeks, we have been reporting on drug busts in the community of Riverlea. This week, Constable Phumi Kraai, who is the communications officer of the Langlaagte Police Station released another report on August 13 relating to a drug bust in the Informal Settlement of Zamimpilo.

According to the report, two men aged 34 and 37-years-old from the informal settlement have been arrested for dealing in marijuana.

The arrests took place after the Langlaagte Police Crime Prevention members went on a Crime Intelligence Driven Operation which led to the arrest of the two suspects on separate occasions inside Zamimipilo Informal Settlement.

Kraai explained: “The estimated street value of the dagga is R800 for the 80 ziplock bags containing dagga and R3500 for 920g of dagga. The suspects will be appearing in court soon.”

Kraai stated that the Langlaagte Police Crime Prevention members are committed to cleaning the area of Langlaagte from drugs and to ensure that our communities feel safe and are safe places.
