During the same week, a 29-year-old man was arrested while driving along the Golden Highway.

“It is alleged that when he was pulled over by patrollers he failed to produce a driver’s license. He tried to bribe the patroller with an undisclosed amount of money. He was arrested on charges of attempting to bribe an officer and will appear in court soon,” said Khobo.

“Bribing a police officer is a serious offence and should never be done. We war motorists that anyone attempting to bribe a police officer will be placed under arrest and dealt with accordingly,” she added.

She reminded residents to report crimes as soon as they happen. “The police station is open 24/7 and is of service to the community at any time of the day or night,” she said.
