Unbearable pain of losing a son

Singer talks about her experience after the death of her son who died in a car accident two years ago.

The pain of losing a child is one a parent can never get over.

It cuts so deep into the heart that it bleeds forever, singer Candy Mokwena said.

It has been two years since her son died in a car crash but she is still hurting.

Ironically, this tragedy happened at a time when the hit song ‘Tsa Mandebele’ was getting airplay.

She said her whole world was at a standstill and she never thought she would come out of the situation strong as she is now.

For months, while South Africans were singing along to her famed ‘Tsa Mandebele’ song, she was battling emotionally and physically.

Her health was under threat and she found out she was diabetic.

“Had it not been for God, I do not know where I would be.

“He carried me through the darkness and gave me hope and renewed strength.”

She said her family, friends and fans were there for her and she is grateful for that.

To parents whose children have passed on, hold on to God and trust his power to heal you.

“Do not stress yourself with questions of why you have lost your child.

“Give it all to God.

“The creator of our lives,” she said.
