Eldridge Primary School Annual Fun Day a success, Eldos

Threat of rain didn’t dampen spirits.

With weather reports forecasting 5 to 10mm of rain on November 5, the outlook for the annual Family Fun Day at Eldridge Primary School in Extension Two, seemed bleak but the promised downpour never materialised.

Educators, learners and parents at the school showed up in their droves to support this annual event. The Annual Family Fun Day is a highlight on the school’s social calendar and the joy on the children’s faces as they experienced the thrill of the various water slides, was a sight to behold.

Dressed in an assortment of bathing costumes, they queued –under the supervision of the adults and splashed in the water while parents enjoyed a brunch prepared and served in the elegantly decorated tuck shop.

The smell of meat prepared over the coals enticed many a meat lover to indulge as their children were under the watchful eye of Emergency Medical Services workers who were there to ensure the safety of the children.

The event went off without a hitch with one learner quipping, “It was so much fun that I wish we could have a fun day every week.
