SAPS arrest 6 for possession of ammunition, Eldos

2 vehicles transporting explosives was found in Eldos!

Eldorado Park SAPS arrested five men and one woman on October 10, after an anonymous tip-off from the community.

The six were arrested on Joe Halim Street in Extension Six after residents reported two suspicious vehicles, a white Toyota Hilux and a white Ford Escort in the area. Police reacted and the six were arrested after it was determined that the group was transporting explosive material.

The woman was found to be in possession of 4 firearms and charged with illegal possession of ammunition in terms of the Fire Arms Act, 4(1)d.

A plastic bag containing unknown plastic was also found. All six are being held at the Eldorado Park police station holding cells and are set to appear in court as soon as possible.

In other news, Eldorado Park Visible Policing members recovered stolen electric cables at Slovo Park informal settlement on October 13, after receiving information from residents.

On their arrival at the scene, they recovered stolen goods and copper cables.

Brigadier Pieter van Dyk, station commander at the Eldorado Park police station cited this as a good example of the positive relationship between law enforcement and the community and thanked all involved in the recovery of the stolen items.
