Relief as family receives wheelchairs

Siblings will now be able to see the sun and feel the wind.

The Myles family can now live with some ease as they received wheelchairs from the Rotary Club on Saturday.

Isabelle Myles takes care of her four step-children who have Huntington ’s disease, an illness that affects the nerve cells.

The heredity disease restricts movement and results in loss of speech, when at its peak causes the patient to fully rely on others.

The four siblings depend on Myles to eat, for the hygiene and movement, two of them are bed-ridden.

Dwight Myles, Mitch Myles and Angelique Myles received wheelchairs, the happiness was evident on their faces.

“I am so happy and grateful.

“Now they can see the sun, feel the wind and I can take them for walks,” Myles said.

The Rotary Club has been active since 1992 in South Africa and has given 27 000 wheelchairs.

They also have other projects where they donate shoes and blankets.
