More drugs removed from streets

Over 100 packets of drugs and dagga was confiscated.

An overnight operation by the Eldorado Park LDAC and CPF, Florida Sector two CPF and Provincial Drug Task Team yielded arrests.

As part of the supply reduction operation, the team of over 50 people pounced on drug houses and lolly lounges in Klipspruit West and Eldorado Park.

Rain did not deter the team from their mission.

A total of eight arrests were made, 73 packets of tik were confiscated in Klipspruit, 25 in Eldorado Park, 13 mandrax tablets, cash worth R2140 and weed was also found.

The operation kicked off at 9pm on Friday and lasted until just after 7am on Saturday.

Allistair Fredericks who leads the supply reduction operation in Eldorado Park said the partnership between communities is vital for the fight against drugs.

“Together, we are a formidable team.

“While we know we still have a lot of work to do, our operations are extremely successful,” Fredericks said.

He said they are in the process of forming partnerships with other communities in order to strengthen their resources and capabilities.

The Florida Sector Two CPF, who has been active in their area for about seven months, is equally passionate about removing drugs from the streets.

“We have to build bridges with other communities, there’s only handful of people who are willing to take up this fight,” a representative from the CPF said.
