Flat burns in Westbury

Residents from the flats assist quickly in distinguishing fire.

Another flat in Westbury opposite Dowling Primary School was burnt out on Saturday July 18.

No injuries were reported. The fire started while the owner of the flat Candice Juwett was at a church function.

“We were called by our neighbours and told that my flat is burning out.

“The flat residents all helped to put the flames out and luckily it was distinguished quickly to avoid massive damage,” said Juwett.

The fire brigade arrived at the scene but by that time the residents had already distinguished the fire.

Shoneez Juwett, sister to Candice Juwett expressed sadness and relief.

“I am just grateful that nothing happened to the family,” said Juwett.

The exact cause of the fire is unknown and still under investigation.
