Raids conducted throughout Eldos
The Eldorado Park LDAC received close to 50 tip-offs.
A raid was conducted with the Eldorado Park Local Drug Action Committee and police from special units on Friday as part of the supply reduction operation.
The continuing operation resulted in arrests, confiscation of ID and passport documents, children taken to safety, addicts being assisted and confiscation of live ammunition.
A man was arrested on Friday for the possession of 10 mandrax tablets.
The team received a list of addresses of lolly lounges, drug dealers and runners from residents.
LDAC and residents approach people at these addresses and issue them with warning letters to stop their illegal activities.
The operation which commenced at 7 am on Friday and gained momentum by 10am was successful according to LDAC leaders although they agree that they have a long way to go.
