Organisations came together in a proactive manner to assist pupils from Elridge Primary School cross busy roads in the mornings and afternoons.
A girl died last year after she was bumped by a man transporting school children and Claudette Baatjies from Tulevik Care said they want such incidents to be avoided.
The scholar patrol teams, made up of about 15 people, are situated on the Golden Highway for children coming from Freedom Park and in the Main Road.
A scholar patrol is also stationed at the scene where the tragedy took place last year.
