The Vision for Eldorado Park Organisation is a broad based entity that assists residents with various issues.
The mobile soup kitchen feeds over 400 children and adults from informal settlements.
Forming a close partnership with police and adopting schools, the organisation provides counselling and intervention for families who have been affected by abuse.
“We have adopted schools so that children who have problems can be referred to us by the school,” Thabiso Mpetsana the chairperson of the organisation said.
Vision for Eldorado Park also assists in getting wheelchairs for the needy, they have blanket drives, assist with rental issues and act as a referral in cases where they can’t assist.
Operating from a flat, the organisation often struggles to operate at full capacity.
They receive sponsorships from local businesses but since all the members of the organisation are unemployed they struggle to keep afloat.
Vision for Eldorado Park is in need of a container where they can operate from since they received vacant land.
