Sibusiso Booi an ex-pupil of Parkdale Primary School handed a cheque worth R70 000 to the school after a plea from deputy principal, Gareth Griffin.
The money will be used toward the schools tattered media centre.
Parkdale Primary School also received tablets from the Department of Education but because of security risks, cannot be stored at the school until the media centre is upgraded with security.
Waltons provided the school with a mobile solution where the tablets will be securely locked.
“We are very privileged as a school and are grateful for the donations,” Griffin said.
Booi and Lorenzo Stevens are on the social committee of Krones SA, the company who sponsored the money, and saw it fit to give back to the community.
“It’s always nice to go back to an old school, we were happy to help the school out,” Booi said.
