The Fifth Annual Majorette Showcase evening was hosted by Bernard Isaacs Primary School Majorettes at Harvesttime Church in Claremont.

They opened the evening with drumming, blowing trumpets and other brass instruments as majorettes performed, accompanied by the Noordgesig and

Eldorado Park Boys Brigade brass bands.

The programme was filled with performances by Soul Sisters and Trincrewity – both teams hailing from the Church of the Nazarene Eldorado Park, and

Philokazi Maphitshi, all the way from Thembisa, who rendered a baton twirling routine.

The Bernard Isaacs Primary (BIP) Legends performed too as did the group which consists of past pupils from Bernard Isaacs Primary School Majorettes.

The evening was filled with talented majorettes showing what they have learnt.

Life Time Achievement Awards were awarded to pioneers of the majorettes in our communities.

Irene Nicholas, Valerie Bhana and Marie Klink from Newclare Primary School Majorettes, Brenda Johnson from EW Hobbs Primary School Majorettes in

Eldorado Park were the honourers.

Florence Daniels was honoured for her work in the community.

The planning committee: Damean Tibbetts, Lauren Krope, Sherelle Damans, Liesel and Deon Visagie, thanked the communities for their support, all the teams for their pure performances and Kofifi FM for their contribution toward the success of the event.
