Service delivery march

Communites across Gauteng will be protesting poor service delivery in the housing department have joined together to organise a march.

Communites across Gauteng will be protesting poor service delivery in the housing department have joined together to organise a march.

The areas that will be taking part in the march are Riverlea, Noordgesig, Coronationville, Bosmont, Claremont, Montclare, Newclare, Westbury, Waterval,

Davidsonville, Eldorado Park, Klipspruit, Ennerdale, Lenasia, Jan Hofmeyer, Fietas, Vrededorp, Bellevista, South Hills, Moffitview, Chrisville, Kleindorpie,

Glenesk, Jeppestown, Fairview and Maurice Freeman.

The Greater Johannesburg Concerned Communities is hosting a march on October 31 at 10am, meeting at the Johannesburg Library Gardens in Simmonds Street.

They will march to the Johannesburg Metro Centre to highlight the following issues:

· Residents want the title deed that has been promised to them since 1994.
· Rent relief for the elderly that are in old aged villages.
· Pre-1994 the housing waiting list, which residents say has been lost.
· Illegal evictions in communities.
· To show their opposition to Johannesburg Social Housing Company (JOSHCO) managing rental houses.
