Emshukantambo commerates Breast Cancer

Pupils, teachers and parents supported the initiative by wearing pink t-shirts and pink ribbons in order to raise money for the disease.

The Emshukantambo Senior Secondary School last Friday commemorated Breast Cancer Awareness Month.

Pupils, teachers and parents supported the initiative by wearing pink t-shirts and pink ribbons in order to raise money for the disease.

Moipone Moqha a teacher, said this is an initiative that is close to her heart as she lost two friends to the sickness.

“It is important that our children know what breast cancer is and how it is affecting everyone in South Africa,” she said.

Pule Hlahane urged everyone to come together and support all those affected by cancer, breast cancer in particular.

“When the whole community stands together in support, we make the load lighter for those that are going through this illness,” said Hlahane.

He said they were aiming to make Pink Friday an annual thing.

He thanked everyone that participated and contributed in making the day a success.
