Motivation for Grade 12 pupils

Grade 12 pupils get words of wisdom to get through exams.

Words of wisdom were conveyed to Grade 12 pupils at a candlelight ceremony hosted by the South African National Civic Organisation (SANCO) Ward 42 branch.

To gear them up for success as they write their final examinations, they were told they can do it.

Paseka Mthombeni, who holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in politics, an Honours degree in public management and governance and she is currently studying towards a Masters degree, shared her experiences.

“Do not let your circumstances determine who you become.

“Work hard and pray harder.

“Do not think if something happens to someone it will not happen to you.

“If your friend or neighbour does well, do not feel left behind, wait your turn and focus on being the best in all that you do and you will see the rewards.”

The branch’s chairperson, Yvette Monnakgotla said the lighting of the candles by the pupils symbolised lights of their lives.

“Let that light shine wherever you are, be it at home or at school.

“Pray and ask God for strength and focus to give your best.”

Bishop George Sekano said whatever the results, pupils should not give up and lose hope.

“We will always support and pray for you no matter what,” he said.

Sfiso Magubane from Matshediso High School in Zone Four said: “We have prepared for the worst and we are hoping for the best.

“We are going to give it our all and make ourselves, parents and teachers proud.”
