Seniors in Riverlea get back to fitness

The classes with the SASFA are all free and the classes are on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 9 am to 10 am.

It’s a new year and many are trying to lose that festive season weight gain, some are eating healthier, others are joining gyms and there are those who need to exercise to keep the aches and pains away.

The seniors in Riverlea kicked off their first aerobics class for the year on January 21.

In an interview previously with Edwina Fillies who is one of the instructors of the class, she mentioned that she went to the South African Seniors Fitness Association (SASFA) to learn exercises that are specialised for the seniors with all the aches and pains, therefore the aerobics is designed for the seniors.

According to Fillies, the first session for the year was a great one as she explained that many came to the class with festive season weight gain but immediately started getting into the session to burn off that weight gain.

The classes with the SASFA are all free and the classes are on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 9 am to 10 am. Fillies invite all seniors who are interested in keeping fit to these aerobic classes.

The classes are held at the Coronationville Swimming Pool on Tuesdays and on Thursdays at the Riverlea Recreation Centre.
