Leo Mthetwa is originally from Zimbabwe, where he studied teaching but due to challenges that he came across he had to vacate his country and move to South Africa so that he can make end means to survive.
He moved from one place to another till he settled and found a place in Meadowlands.
Methetwa believes that art is a natural skill that one can’t take away from you.
“As an artist I know that I can use an image and create a perfect picture of it through drawings,”said Mthetwa.
He added that art is a calling because everyone can be taught but it takes a few people to continue producing something that will entice people and grab their attention in many forms.
He has done wall drawings for different schools and also daycare centres.
He also explained that he believes that African women are capable of doing great things and their hard work speaks volumes.
“My father was an artist and I believe that I have also inherited that skill from him,” said Mthetwa.
He is inspired mostly by what black people are creating for themselves for instances the first black South African president and also the first black American president, these two have shown that black people can do it.
Mthwetwa spends most of his time in his room telling stories through different art.
