Gigabyte makes waves in the music scene

The Gigabyte fever also caught on to some of South Africa's most prominent music names.

Dj Vusinator’s song titled Gigaba/Gigabyte has been making waves across radio stations. The AmaPiano track, which features the talents of Soso and Killa, recently jumped into the itunes top 20, a milestone Vusinator is proud of.

“Well we worked very hard on it and it’s been doing well across radio stations. South Africa’s really taken to it well and we are happy because these are signs that we are moving in the right direction.

“The song’s success is not exclusive to radio. Snippets of Gigaba have been making rounds on social media.”


Dj Vusinator featured Sosa and Killa on his latest smash hit.

Amapiano lovers uploaded videos of themselves dancing to the song on both Facebook and Twitter under the tag #GigabaDanceChallenge.many questions have been asked of the song’s lyrics and origin.

Speaking to Soweto Urban News, Producer and Dj, Vusinator said the song’s success is no surprise for anyone who was present during its conception.

“With regards to the lyrics you would have to speak to Soso. She was playing with the lyrics and we just decided to get her together with Killa and do something.

“The whole song took less than a less than a day to finish, including mastering, that’s how much faith we had in it. We purely went on energy and even then, we could all feel that it was actually a great song, so we are grateful to see South Africans also feeling it,” said Vusinator.

Gigabyte’s success comes just weeks after Vusinator’s annual Three Years of Nator music celebration hosted at Mabutos Pub in Soweto on the 29th of June However,. despite the song’s success, Vusinator admits that there were challenges in the early stages.

“It wasn’t straight forward. We had challenges of course, the song got leaked and went viral before we even released it, it was everywhere, you tube, social media, but thankfully Waltz Music group was able to sort it out,” said Vusinator.

The Gigabyte fever also caught on to some of South Africa’s most prominent music names.

Gugulethu hitmaker, Prince Kaybee posted a snippet of the song on his Twitter account captioned “Guys you don’t understand how proud I am of AMAPIANO” he went on to encourage Vusinator to continue the good work.

Reflecting on the interaction, Vusinator said he felt inspired by Kaybee’s words.”It was great for us, to see that our music goes as far as people like Prince Kaybee. I feel more inspired and motivated to succeed than I have ever before,” Vusinator said.

The Senaoane Dj and Producer also took time to thank his supporters for the positive reception of the song.
