Nomthandazo Community Center in Orlando West gets special votes

Today, elderly citizens of Orlando West cast their special votes at Nomthandazo Community Center with the assistance of the NPO’s organisers, Lillian Dineka (Chairperson) and Paula Shipalana (Project Manager) along with IEC officials as the elections period sweeps over this week.

Nomthandazo Community Center organisers acknowledge that senior citizens are important members of society as they transcend wisdom and various ways of living including insightful teachings.

Therefore, they deserve to be treated with respect and care.

Shipalana said “We look out for these wonderful people through home-based care and we’ve introduced aerobics to keep them fresh and their blood pumping.

“We organised this special vote to assist them to avoid long queues tomorrow because it’s difficult for them to stand for a long time”

Unfortunately, not all these senior citizens were allowed to vote at Nomthandazo Community Center due to the voting stations they registered on.

However, they were assured and instructed to skip the queues and go straight to the IEC officials for assistance tomorrow when casting their votes.
