WATCH: Soweto TV opens its doors for auditions

Soweto TV unearths local talent.

The Soweto TV auditions for the next Sports Reporter may have shown the auditioners some hilarious people, however, talent may have been discovered as well according to Soweto TV’s News Editor Nelisiwe Nxumalo.

People who claimed to have been preparing for these sorts of auditions from ever since they could recall got the chance to be tried and tested like Sizwe Tshabalala who reckoned it was all up to the judges after his brief audition which he thought was good enough to make it through.



Nxumalo explained that as Soweto TV they desire to unearth new talent in Soweto, she said, “We are looking for someone who is really really driven and in touch with their sports as a whole and can be able to connect with the people.”

The turn up was big and the line was long with young people hoping to clinch the spot of the next sports presenter, Tshego Modisane who went to audition herself said, “We just have to wait and see who gets to grace our screens.”

Christinah Shabangu went to Diepkloof Zone 6 at the Soweto TV Studios to audition because she said that sports is her thing.

She said that if work would be doing what she loves, which is watching and talking about sports, she would give it all she has got.

Morena Maboe figured that these auditions would be his best shot at doing what he has always wanted to do.

The auditions went well and many young people queued for their chance to audition, Sponono Hlanzi said, “We had fun.”
