Ngobese nominated to SA Men of Year

Veli Ngobese (29) has been nominated for the SA Men of the Year Award under the Community Development category. With the excitement of being nominated the young man said it clearly shows that he is doing outstanding work in his community.

“It is an honour to be recognised and I hope many people will keep on supporting us in every possible way in order for us to make this dream come to life,” he said.



Ngobese is the founder of Sizabantu Development Arts and Project which was established in 2016 with an aim to assist young people from Soweto and surrounding areas with skills development, sports and art and culture. He said the organisation was established by himself and Nomsa Tholibathi in Jeppe’s Town.

“We work with different organisations which is the Department of Social Development, GOMEFF, Lethukukhanya, BMW and Jozi Men’s Forum.



“We assist young people with computer skills, sport, life skills and teaching skills and we also provide sewing skills to the elderly people,” he said.

Ngobese said they also launched Jeppe’s Town Men’s Forum in 2017 with Siyabonga Mdlalose with an aim to build the future of young men of the country.



“Our organisations have many activities taking place and we would like people to join our organisation and help better other people’s lives,” he said.
