Contractor given 60 months to complete project at Noordgesig primary

Working ahead of time.

The time frame has been set and the project has been started, the contractor is running ahead of time to ensure that next year October they are done.

Yikusasa Construction Company is given 60 months to finish the whole project. Demolition has started, and building has started on the other side.

The Democratic Alliance shadow MEC of Education Khumo Ramolifho was flattered by the progress of the project of Noordgesig Primary School.



Ramolifho said the school has been in the pipeline for a while and he has been trying very hard to push the project to ensure that they eradicate asbestos in the school.

“I am glad that finally, they are demolishing the asbestos and rebuilding from scratch,” said the shadow MEC.

He said he was there to verify that the project has really started and avoided only relying on the reports. He explained the experience that he had in the past when they relayed from the reports.

Ramolifho alleged that they have received a number of reports on this project indicated that the school has been renovated whereas that was not the case. He explained that when he came to the school there was no improvement.

He stated that he can now speak with pride that the work has started but only wishes that the will be no disruptions so that the school can be completed within the time frame that has been set.

His hope is for the community members will take ownership of the project and is happy that he spotted locals on the site. He said he’s satisfied that the locals are busy acquiring knowledge and skills.

Derick van Rooyen from Yikusasa welcomed the visitors to the construction area and gave them a go ahead to do their oversight visit.

He first showed them the open plan of the school. The learners are attending in temporal classes that a located in Noordgesig grounds.
