Divas standing up against abuse

Thick Divas empowering each other to love and appreciate their bodies.

Thick Divas held an photo shoot to campaign against women abuse at Thokoza Park.

The photo shoot aimed to raise awareness against the rise in the killings of women and children in the country.

Women wore all black and gathered to voice their concerns about the killings of women and children.

During the photo shoot women donned signs that spoke out against violence.

Thick Divas Founder Elizabeth Oboh said, “As it’s women month man should stop abusing us and we are saying enough is enough.

“Through this photo shoot we are sending a strong message and man should stop being abusive towards women and children,” added Oboh.

Member Keneilwe Setlai said, “I’m not a victim but a survivor because I’m still standing taller and stronger after walking away from the abusive relationship.”

According to Keneilwe Lebusa thick women also suffer from emotional abuse because usually man would label you as being fat and they are doing you a favor because no man will date you.

“We are showing the world that we are people and our voices should be heard. We are confident and love ourselves,” she said.

“We should embrace young boys to better man and teach them that women need to be respected, loved and protected,” said Aquilla Masoka.
