Security guard shot after alleged cash-in-transit heist in Dosbonville
A security guard sustained a gunshot wound to the arm.
Just In – A cash-in-transit heist allegedly took place this afternoon at Dobsonville Point. According to a statement released by ER24, a security guard was left injured on his arm after having been shot.
Information remains sketchy at the moment. However, Dobsonville police confirmed that the incident did occur.
ER24 Spokesperson, Ineke van Huyssteen said, “When our paramedics arrived on the scene shortly after 12H00, they found the patient being treated inside a doctor’s room.
“ER24 transported the patient to the hospital for further medical care.
“The exact circumstances surrounding the incident were not known to our paramedics, but police were on the scene for further investigations,” van Huyssteen.
Police have not yet confirmed whether the robbers fled with cash and no arrests have been made. Soweto Urban has contacted the provincial police to gather more information, however, but our attempts were unsuccessful.
