Construction of new music school underway in Jabulani

NAAPA to brew local talent in Jabulani.

New construction is currently underway in Jabulani, and this time the building will be going towards improving local arts industry.

Making way for the new NAAPA Music school, the construction is in preparation for a one of a kind and the first ever music school of its kind in Soweto.

With the building solely dedicated to developing local musical talent, the idea behind starting the school was born from the idea of giving back.

“This is the result of a CSI initiative between Inkanyeli Group and the Caiphus Semenya Foundation which are the sponsors of the project.

“The Inkanyeli group has been the main contractor in a few projects under the Jabulani CBD construction and after some time of working, the group decided to embark on a giving back campaign.

“After having decided of giving back, Inkanyeli was fortunate enough to come across the Caiphus Semenya Foundation and the two parties then decided to build something that will not only give back but something that will continue making a positive change in the community,” said Steven Selepe, the community liaising officer.

The project commenced last year July and thus far the project is nearing the completion of the first phase of construction which is establishing the basic structure of the building.

The building will include two floors with three mini-lecture rooms, a parking lot, security area and an office.
