Mofolo Murder: Grieving son speaks
LISTEN: Son explains how his mother was killed right before his eyes.
The Jabavu Urban News journalist visited the family of Nomsa Hilda Mbuyisa this morning to find out how this tragic and traumatic experience has affected them.
The deceased [Nomsa] was shot in front of her 19-year-old son, Mthunzi Mbuyisa, in Mofolo yesterday morning. She is survived by three sons, with Mthunzi being the eldest.

According to the family, her death came as a shock and has left them reeling. When her son was interviewed, he described the relationship between his mother and father as heartbreaking and unpleasant.
“Me and my dad we weren’t on good terms. Actually, we hardly spoke to each other because of how he used to treat my mom. For many years, I grew up seeing how horribly he treated my mother and he did it right in front of me.

“As the years went by, I made a decision. I decided to cut ties with my father for good and nothing has changed ever since. But for me and my mother, we were best friends. She’d confide in me,” said Mthunzi.
